Thomas Hoffman ’62
Saint Peter's had a lasting impact on Thomas Hoffman ’62. Shortly before he was about to enter college, his father died unexpectedly. A scholarship to Saint Peter's was the only way Tom could attend college.
Within a week of his father’s passing, Saint Peter's awarded Tom a scholarship and he was forever grateful for this generosity. Building on his Saint Peter's education, Tom had a successful career as a patent attorney. In gratitude, he supported Saint Peter's throughout his lifetime and served his community in a variety of civic roles as a coach, tutor and mentor. He also loved sharing knowledge and learning new things.
Knowing of the profound impact that Saint Peter's had on her husband and his thirst for knowledge, Louise Murray established The Thomas D. Hoffman, Esq. ’62 Annual Scholarship to help determined students majoring in chemistry obtain a college education, as Tom did.
Thanks to Louise’s thoughtful support, the Hoffman Scholarship will provide hardworking students with a Jesuit education, empowering them to achieve their dreams.
